Fiftieth Post

I’ll mark my fiftieth post with a announcement of sorts…

I’ve recently been trying to keep to a more frequent posting schedule and am quite happy with what I’ve produced. So from here on in I’m going to try (hard) to post on a more regular basis. I’m shooting for at least every couple to few days. 

I really need to practice the craft of writing in the hopes of being more “comfortable” and less “planned,” if you will. Blogging should be more about spontaneity than anything else, right?  Continue reading Fiftieth Post

Off The Hook?

Here I sit a good 10 days following the initial national Maple Leaf Listeriosis tainted meat scandal, a situation that continues to grow more serious with each passing day. In terms of an ever mounting tainted product list. So today I’m faced with a seemingly connected string of concerns.

First my Grandfather. Yes still. I’ve yet to hear why he fell so ill and, as of Wednesday, when I last saw him, was still not feeling right. Up To The Task?

Apparently Exxon Mobil made $11.68 billion last quarter! And a 7% profit margin is, not only obscene, but an act that justifies punishment by taxation, if I’m to take Barack Obama’s words seriously. 

But, Mr. Obama isn’t what you’re telling people you’re going to do and what you can actually do once elected a gross “conflict of interest?” Seems to me that the change you’re suggesting isn’t even possible once the oath of office is taken. Am I wrong? Aren’t all company’s accountable to their shareholders? And providing profit is, not just the main, but the sole impetus? Continue reading Up To The Task?

I Wonder

It was Canada Day 2008. Just a very short 26 days ago. While normally an absurd reason to “employ” moronic traditions signifying the founding of a “nation state,” I chose, instead to celebrate a friends birthday with a load of other people…

We were outside in a different friends backyard until well after nightfall when I realized I hadn’t been bitten by a mosquito. Strange. I’d even been warned by the home owner, more than once that her backyard was notorious for the little critters. But no deal. Continue reading I Wonder
