In my January 20th post, Haiti Occupied? And For What?, I briefly eluded to being interested in things to come concerning the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti, generally, but the resulting commentary, specifically. And, in particular, William Blum’s February instalment of his Anti-Emire Reports.
And it’s here. Well, as of 3 days ago…
And, granted, it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. Looking back on it now, he’s never been one known — from what I’ve read of his writing — to dwell “conspiracy theories.” Not that what Cynthia McKinney and John Pilger, some days later, wrote [1] [2] about could be considered a “conspiracy theory,” per se, but I should state, Blum tends to keep his focus on citing inconsistencies in American Foreign Policy logic, not to mention the gigantic dis-service the media is paying society, more than anything. Rather than on any American “agenda.” I digress.
And while, as I said, February’s instalment wasn’t quite what I was expecting, his commentary concerning Haiti is still quite worthy of your attention. And the bit prior, on Howard Zinn, and the bit after, about Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab — “the underwear bomber” — are quite compelling, too.
Check it all out…
