OK, for those who aren’t aware, the above group of letters is a rather sad reference to a song off Faith No More’s epic 1992 album “Angel Dust,” Be Aggressive. I know, it’s one letter short, what can I say? Except, of course, it seemed like a much wittier idea while lying awake last night, what, with an 80 some odd pound brown eyed Lab, so obliviously, lying on my feet. I couldn’t get him off. So I had to occupy myself somehow…

Anyway I got to thinking about what it means to be receptive, or open, to everything all the time. I, personally, found that particular premise intriguing. Mostly because I was bored silly. Oh, and, it’s impossible. How could an individuals undying attention be so focused on acknowledging and absorbing everything, at a constant pace, going on around them? You couldn’t. Which led me to the fact that we are selective about what we see and hear. What constitutes anything grabbing our attention? What is going on around, with, and to us? It’s a vicious circle. Fucks with your mind while half asleep awaiting morning…
